Dutch Semi-Permanent Military Base Installation

Cubis Systems along with their partner GM products recently had the privilege to attend a Dutch military training installation of Cubis’ network access and cable protection products, to be used in semi-permanent military bases. This installation was to trial Cubis’ system for both their power and telecom infrastructure networks.

For the installation training, they created an underground network system using Cubis’ cable protection system MULTIduct™ and access pit system STAKKAbox™ ULTIMA Connect.

MULTIduct™ is an innovative, lightweight, structural, multiple duct system that offers a modern alternative to traditional cable ducting systems. Most commonly used in the construction of under track or road crossings, tunnels, bridge crossings and buried linear routes MULTIduct™ offers an easily deployed and accessible cable management system.

MULTIduct™ also offers seamless integration with Cubis’ range of pit access products such as STAKKAbox™ ULTIMA Connect, enabling enhanced cable management and access. MULTIduct™ can be integrated into STAKKAbox™ access pits on-site, or alternatively spigots can be pre-assembled and delivered as a single unit.

The Cubis range of products have many features that matched the military’s requirements, such as being lightweight, easy to handle and along with the added benefit of being easily transported.

The modular properties of the STAKKAbox™ ULTIMA Connect access pit system, meant that the pits could be flat-packed and transported by air allowing for international deployment, in a rapid timeframe. By using the lightweight modular ‘flat pack’ components there was a reduction in transport weight and no specialist equipment was required in comparison to a traditionally built precast concrete pit system.

The Cubis product range is suitable for underground infrastructure networks and is widely used within sectors such as the Telecoms, Power & Energy, Rail, Water and Highways.

For the training installation, the military tailored the ULTIMA Connect pits and MULTIduct™ system for a mix of both power and telecommunication utilities.
