Gas Infrastructure Access Pit Overbuild

Wales and West Utilities recently specified and installed Cubis ULTIMA Connect access pit and cover solutions to replace existing brick built structures around high pressure gas valves.

Rapid Overbuild Around Existing Gas Infrastructure

Cubis supplied modular, scalable, flat pack pits in various sizes, bespoke to each site, that enabled overbuilding of the new pits around the large high-pressure gas valves without the need for shuttering or specialist concrete work. The flat packed pit solutions provided rapid installation times with the contractor being able to assemble all pits on site in less than one day. Cubis also supplied lightweight, easy to lift AX-S™ C250 composite frames & covers to complement each pit.

To optimise installation speed and efficiency Cubis worked with the asset owner from initial design phase to final installation to provide bespoke engineering calculations for each site, to support backfill recommendations and to provide relevant drawings, BIM files and installation guides.
