Adaptable, Flat-pack Pit Solution

Cubis Systems supplied its STAKKAbox™ ULTIMA Connect network access pit solution to NEXCITY via its partner Brezillon. The large 5200mm x 1400mm x 1500mm pit was built on site in a densely populated area around an existing 300mm water supply pipe.

The restrictive location made the STAKKAbox™ ULTIMA Connect the ideal pit system due to its ability to deliver to site flat packed and flexibility during construction. The lightweight components removed any health & safety concerns surrounding large specialist equipment and access on site unlike traditional methods such as precast concrete.

The network access pit was built around the existing pipeline by cutting the easily adaptable components of the STAKKAbox™ ULTIMA Connect with hand tools on site. The installation of the pit took less than 2hrs before VEOLIA installed the new water hydraulic equipment into the existing pipe work.

The network access pit was then covered with Cubis’ A15 composite covers to provide a greater clear opening for future entry to the pit and hydraulic system when needed.
