Rose Ghyll Trackside Drainage: Mayport, Cumbria
A specialist engineering project led by Story Contracting Ltd, has seen the introduction of CUBIS' innovative drainage product, the new FLEXI Pit, installed as part of a Network Rail project to provide track-side drainage for a section of railway track in Cumbria, North-West England.
It is our objective to recommend and provide our clients with the most state-of-the-art products that add value to any project. The FLEXI Pit’s easily adjustable sliding backfill barrier helps engineers to achieve the correct pipe invert levels whilst onsite, removing the need for technical drawings and therefore allowing for rapid turnaround from our stocking depots.

The portion of railway in the Rose Ghyll area, near Maryport began in March of this year with the installation of ten FLEXI Pit chambers each measuring 1200 x 600mm and incorporating Cubis' new innovative back-fill barrier designed to accommodate drainage duct entries measuring from 150mm to 375mm.
The PADS approved FLEXI Pit, a product constructed from the industry recognised Cubis STAKKAbox™ ULTIMA access chamber provides a system that is strong and light in weight, incorporating an innovative sliding backfill barrier which is easily adjusted on site to achieve the correct pipe invert level.
During the installation demonstration, Keyline highlighted the NEW FLEXI Pit’s wide-range of benefits, including how quick it was to install, robust, and the ease of adjustment for pipe connections when onsite. This innovative product helped our team of specialists to complete this important project efficiently and effectively.
